The Origin
In 2018, Yimin's father almost died of a heart attack. This was just three years after Yimin lost his uncle to the same condition.
Yimin's father was able to recover by eating a plant-based diet and losing 80 pounds in 18 months. Inspired by Dad's recovery, Yimin completed the Plant-based Nutrition Certification at Cornell University.
A plant-based diet can lower the risk of heart disease, strokes, and type 2 diabetes. But, it can be challenging to switch to a plant-based diet since it requires planning and effort.
Yimin and his co-founder, James, decided to use technology to solve this problem. Yimin and James are passionate about helping people eat healthy plant-based and become healthier. The creation of Plantwise helps plant-based diets become easier in practice.
